I heard Al Jazeera english was not so bad in their coverage as well esp of the recent egypt uprising...at least what they were able to cover about it. there's an interesting article online about how low key al jazeera is in US and how there are only few places in US it is available. Al jazeera, owned by qatar, was barred by egyptian govt from conducting a coverage of the protests, i would have thought that since it is owned by qatar, it would have some leverage...but no...that's interesting. im beginning to think of al jazeera to be something like bbc now...state owned but have some modicum of freedom to do some editorials and coverage the way their journalists see fit. of course to an extent....but which news agency does not? hope they dont adapt irritating seat fillers full of just hollow soundbites!
but hey, i heard gloria vanderbilt's son's silver locks got messed up in egypt!!
speaking of news...Peninsula news paper here seems to be asserting a voice....yeah, it seems to have editorials now worth perusing!
