I am hoping that somebody, somewhere is chronicling the progress and writing the history of doha as it unfolds now; taking pictures of old establishment before they get torn down and replaced them with some spankin' new ones.
Have you driven around doha lately? there is so much construction going on it's stupefying. you can drown yourself in cement if you like. is it doha's golden age of progress or something? probably is! So much happening going on, people in transition more than the usual, social change for the good or bad is yet to be known, education boom, peace talks, seminars, employments, researches, blah blah blah. it is the best of times for doha...though it could be the worst of times outside.
I hope local students from the fancy schools around here get invited to write for the local papers, especially the english ones, put into print what they have learned, practice shaping the papers that they will later inherit...blog...theirs will be the testimony of what's going on in their surroundings. theirs would be the social commentaries of what's going on viewed from their perspective and not from how expats interpret their actions, rather than waiting for someone online to attack your ways, step up and educate others about it. it would be a glimpse of what's to come, the payoff for what your country has done for you providing you with good education and lots of opportunities. step up, write, design, be confident that you've been trained well enough and your work can be just as good if not better. make the best of what you have now, these are the best of times. Step up, really, make your country proud, you've been given so much! drive safely!!
gahhh.....im all pumped out!...need water....
