im curious about this film, but i have made a pact to shun shakybuttcameras!! but judging from the audience reactions, maybe on the real shaky cam moments i could look around at other people's faces for entertainment...... bring it on here!!!

I will sooo not watch this... I couldn't even finish The Orphanage that you burned for me, and got scared as hell with... Pan's Labyrinth!!! the shame.
People did say the camwork here was puke-inducing...

yeh there was talk of that, but said they eventually go back to using the tripod so it is bearable.........wanna see this one and have a good excuse to scream inside the theater here!lol! i'd be like: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH SHUTHEFAKUP!!!!!!

WAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! i found a link online and saw first 20 minutes of it.........i paused coz im trying to decide whether to continue watching it or muster some strength to get off the bed and get lunch.........rofllll...........fug!! apparently it is not a ghost but a demon that stalks you for years, and if there's anything negative going on, it becomes stronger...and one should not invite it in or try to engage it in anyway.........but they're sleepign with the camera on and i think that will piss it off...............when the demon does appear, apparently it always appears at the foot of her bed ..since she was 8, and her sister has seen it/felt it as well.......boooooooooooooooo!!!!
come on watchiiittttt!!LMAO!!

if you have the normal ability to emphatize - by which i mean like you go watch a horror flick and can easily frame your mind to thinking : if this happens to you.... and you scare easily - DO NOT WATCH THIS FILM!
i finally finished watching it last night on puter, had to throw away the headset at times or not looked at the screen coz it creeped me out!lol!
basically the movie is made through low quality video camera, so none of the polished big film shots. it's more in the genre of cloverfield but WAAAYYY less shaky. here, most of the 'scary' scenes are left to one's imagination, shot by a video cam that is at least most of the time on tripod. so if you're the type who likes to scare yourself @#$#@less, this one's for you! ;D i'd suggest you watch it with a lot of friends, more fun that way, you can scream at each other's faces!
it's about a young woman who has been haunted by an entity since she was 8. now she's like maybe mid 20s and is still haunted by the same thing. when she first experienced the 'thing', she was 8 - it would be anywhere from it whispering calling her name, slamming doors, hearing a loud thump, faucets lights or tv turning on and off, and apparently a shadowy thing would appear by the foot of her bed... and her sister has seen it as well, and it's always at the foot of her bed, not her sisters..but hers. around the time this entity was first felt, their house burned down mysteriously.
now she's moved in with her boyfriend and her boyfriend wants to find out if it's real, what it's about, etc. thus the video cam in their house. they'v set up the cam in their room so the scary shots are focused on their bed, the open door and the hallway leading to the stairs. if you know that some entity wants to keep banging doors, would you want to lock it shut at least!??! the footages were mostly when they are asleep, when everyone is most vulnerable. the thing that's gripping is that you dont really know what's going to happen or appear, you'd be intent watching it, waiting that a slightest sound could make you jump as well. so the rest of the movie goes like this - the video cam project lasted 3 weeks, and movie is composed of paranormal stuff seen on the video. they consulted a psychic who advised them this is not a ghost but a demon so it's out of his scope. they were warned that this entity thrives on negativity and not to try to engage it in any way, taunt it, use ouija board, or respond to it when it calls. but douche boyfriend is skeptic and did not agree with calling a demonologist to hep them out. as the paranormal activity gets worse and worse, they end up arguing more and more - basically coz the guy is a douche. one time, when it got really worse and gf wants to call the demonologist, the douche wants to put powder on the floor instead to find out if it leaves foot marks....i dunno what his plans were: to make the demon slip and slide on the talcum powder and break it's neck!?! effin ridick!! spoilers: the mark left by the entity looked like a duck's feet which is hilarious now that i think of it, the woman is haunted by a demonic donald duck!!!
the thing that worked for this movie is the actors were quite good in it. you do forget that they're acting and that this is not really a docu and actual footage.
i read that when this film was first shown to steven spielberg, he came back with the video in a garbage bag because he thought it's cursed!lol! he had to call the locksmith to fix his locks after watching the film!
this film was first screened in 2007 at screamfest, rejected at sundance, and only got shown in theaters september 2009 at few cities and later on expanded to other cities by demand. when they first had a screen test for this, a lot of people walked out. the director thought it didnt sit well with the audience, but later found out that the audiences walked out because they were totally creeped out by the film. this apparently have 3 different endings and have scenes that were sometimes showing in some screenings - but whatever, the one's i saw and from what ive read of the other 2 versions, it's still scary!
i hope people see it, it's scary fun! the husband demanded that i give him a rational explanation why i had to turn on all the lights when i got up to pee last night!lol! SPOILSPORT!!!
