Indiana Jones weekend

For some reason, i sent some txts last thursday and friday nobody txt'ed me back!!! i just wanted it be known that my phone was working perfectly fine this weekend. ;D

sooo....went to the dr. jones screening last night -- it's just an ok movie. of course it'll be nothing like temple of doom or raiders of the lost ark, but for those with good memories watching that film, it's time for nostalgia when u see this film. seriously, hearing the score of indiana jones will bring you back to your kiddie times! insert reminisce...



dont u just hear that kid shouting "Dr. Jungs!Dr. Jungs!" in ur head huh? huh?

watching the latest indy feels like the end of an era - the only character not knocking on septuagenarian door in this movie is shia lebaouef (ok, cate b. too, but i wanna use the word septuagenarian today!) which i hope doesnt end up like the last probable dr jones torch bearer - river phoenix. although shia b. did end up with a mug shot while doing this film.

anyhoo.....this is ridiculous fun times. cate blanchett sporting an ana wintour do is a bit disconcerting but she's a good actress. still i think she'll wince a bit remembering this film. her role here will explain how she ended up in Narnia land.....or was that Tilda Swinton? Tilda is kinda Cate blanchet's Walmart version, i mix them up!

Dont come seeing this film with high expectations, it's just bleh but still i had a bit fun watching it. what happened to steven spielberg's sense of ridiculous adventure!?!? hitting shia's crotch numerous times with a bush is not define adventure ---except if im the one doing the hitting of course.....ahem...did i say that out loud?!?accckkk pedooo!!!

Today's movie will be Pan's Labyrinth!!! ;D ;D ;D i missed this 2 years ago, kudos to the good taste of whoever in doha thought to screen it here!!i hope no jerk wanders into this film --- yes i mean you butthead whose phone kept ringing last night in the indy movie....seriously, if your mom calls you to tell you to go home, u go home STAT!!! dont pretend you're some hot dude getting important bootie calls..........aaaarggghhhhhh!!!!! im palpitating! im palpitating!!!!!

We saw Indy yesterday too and I agree with the "end of the era" thing. Hated the Tarzan scene, loved Cate Blanchett, and cringed each time I saw Harrison Ford's old man skin on his neck and chest.

Going into the Indie movie, i had butterflies in my stomach. After seeing him come to India to fight Kali followers, fight the Nazis and also get the holy grail, i did not really know what i should expect this time around.

But the moment that theme song came on, "tan ta daan taan tan ta daan, tan ta daan taan tan ta daaan", everything else was forgotten. I was a little boy again, eagerly holding my pops hand in the theater, looking wonder-eyed at the man in the hat, with his cracking bull whip, whipping at Nazi ass left, right and centre.

Indie has aged gracefully. I love him for not impersonating bollywood stars (from the land where i come from) who at 70, still try to pass off as college students (sigh). I loved the movie for its sheer tongue-in-cheek humour. And yes, i DO believe that former drug addict, heroin snorting Shea LeBouf is the next best thing.

An Indie Movie is always cause for celebration. Even though they could have avoided him enduring the nuclear blast and the flying saucer, i still lurved the movie.

If QBB people are going for the movie, would someone let me know? I am very much interested in watching it once more and i would love it even more if i had company who appreciated the Indie movies as much as i do...
