After reviewing this story initially introduced to me when i was 4 yrs old, `i've to say i am outraged and terribly let down that ive been fed this story and lapped every single bit of it and put it up there along with princess and the pea as one of the best all time stories!....I am shocked that this story continues to be spread to kids!! i can understand Santa Clause.....but jack n the beanstalk?!?
i dont have to rehash the entire story but here are the ff points that i particularly dont agree with:
1. Jack exchanged his cows for beans/stones/seeds.....and we're supposed to be happy about it. This promotes dumbness and inability to follow orders and disrespecting the request of your parents. and for what???because he was promised something else!!something more!.....get rich quick attitude anyone!??!
2. Jack, when he discovered about the giant's pet that lays golden eggs, n other magic stuff, he stole them!!stole!! What is this??...he went to a private property, the giant's, which i believe constitutes breaking and entering. then he stole stuff!
3. Finally, he escaped, climb down the giant tree and.....guess what he did!?!! he chopped it off!! a giant tree!!deforestation!!..ok, it is only one but still, it's a giant rare tree!
there.....ive gotten it off my chest. i feel better now. there should be only two jacks now in our minds: Jack from jack n jill....and Jack Bauer....rofl!!sorry cant help it! ;D
