Ok, contemporary soul (deep R & B) heads in the QBB house... if you listen to and love the likes of Joss Stone, Lemar, Omar, Jill Scott, Erikah Badu, John Legend, Raphael Saadiq, even Al Jarreau etc.. thats you... I recommend you urgently find the new album by Robin Thicke entitled, Evolution of Robin Thicke.
This album is simply music perfected.
The last time I heard a white guy sing with such non-commercial, old school, Motown soul was... well never. Think the anti-thesis to the cross-over phenom (if rather 'popy') that is Justin Timberlake. Think the voice to Jamie Cullums music. Only he, JT, Eminem, Christina Aguilera and now Robin Thicke have genuinely crossed the colour barrier and made non-commerical music that is acceptable to a highly prejudical audience that expects their music to come from artists of colour.
As if the talent required punctuation, he writes his own material and his under the perhaps unlikely stewardship of Pharrel Williams (Neptunes impresario).

She entered the scene with a return of that smoky wine-bar, double-bass and drums kinda music. Her debut album, Baduism, had 'on and on' as its anthem. Her voice is very reminiscent of Billie Holliday's. Brilliant I thought. If you liked that, or anything she's done, you'll love Robin Thicke's effort.
