Anybody here watch the TV series "The Office?"
Before you UK expats say anything, I know about the English version (also very funny), but I am talking about the US version (Absolutely funny).
If you haven't seen it, you should. It might take you a few episodes to get into it, but it is insanely funny.
If you can't find it in Qatar, go download it on Bittorrent.

I would gladly share, but I am a little far from Qatar at the moment. Still planning my move there.

I love the American one. The British one just made me cringe. I couldn't watch it.

Thats the whole point midge.... its the cringe factor that makes it great.... it must do with the release of endorphins or something... like eating really hot chilli peppers or riding a scary rollercoaster I actually worked with someone who was the spitting image in both looks and personality. It was scary.

American versions tend to be watered down and somewhat blergh. Red Dwarf, anyone?
On the other hand, the UK version of Pimp My Ride is quite sad. A pink and purple Vauxhall looks pimped alright, but it's still a Vauxhall. LOL

They had an American version of Red Dwarf? ? My God. Usually I do prefer the British versions of comedies, but I think with the American Office they've actually done a pretty decent job.

I downloaded episode 15 of season 3 yesterday.
BTW - The argument over which one is better is pointless. They each play to the humor of their respective consumers. As an American I find our version better. But if I was from across the pond, I would likely find the UK version tops.

I'm not sure to appreciate this, socce2010. The French version (yes, we have a french version) is 100% crap. What does this mean? ;D

Always approach it with an open mind and see where it goes. On the other hand, watching TV is a terrible waste of time and maybe we would all be better off with crappy TV.

I love them both. The UK version is so believable to me and I love to find the humor in the absurdity that exists in real life. On the other hand, the American one is just flat out over the top American comedy.
I always loved the UK AbFab but never did see the planned American version. It wouldn't be the same without the real Patsy and Edina. BTW, my roommate for 10 years in the US (pre-Muslimah years) dressed up as the illustrious duo for our massive halloween costume party one year. I was Edina -- only because I had the wackier wardrobe to choose from ;D

My favorite British show of all time was Coupling, it was so funny. Then they made a horribly crappy American version that lasted 3 shows before it was cancelled cause Americans couldn't believe that girls in their mid-twenties would talk about sex like that.
