if u havent seen this movie coz u feel like it's another denzel cop washington movie, or u were threatened that it's another spike lee racial angst movie.......dont be threatened. i did and didnt catch this in theater coz seriously, if i see denzel play another cop again, i swear that guy's gonna have identity crisis thinking he's a real cop. he's a good actor but someone give him other roles pls! if he's not a lawyer, he's a coach and almost every year it seems he's a cop somewhere! but back to the movie, this is one of the better films, and best cops n robbers film this year.
i cant give you much about the plot without giving things away, but suffice it to say, it's a film that revolved around a bank robbery that got complicated and complicated....and ended...well, something uve to see for urself. the actors and bit actors are good and interesting in this film, and will give you something to think about while standing inside a bank. somewhere during this movie, i kinda wonder by setting up this perfect crime on film, it just might inspire some crooks to copy it.
for the guys, it's not the usual cops n robbers film, but i think it is something u'll only appreciate only once, but is at least a good ride.
It's a good film and another reason to love Clive Owen. he's so kewl in this film as the villain, u'll find urself cheering him on and hoping he get to walk out of the bank like he told the cops he would do when the heist is over. Actually, he was so kewl, i hope the bond franchise will get him as bond's nemesis. they cant kill him though but make it like he escaped, he's too kewl to be killed!and he's a perfect villain to balance Craig's blonde sometimes gollum like bond!
cant say much about the film now without giving it away really, but if u find a copy, take the time off and watch it. it's kewl, if uve nothing better to do, u wont regret it.

If it stars Clive Owen and Jodie Foster, it probably is worth watching
But the main reason I watched it....There was a rumour going around that Thierry Henry would feature in the movie...

ewww wooot!?!?...they were ok in closer but only owen's character kinda made that film interesting for me. nice man in general but not as weak and lame as jude's character.
the bond film was ok, it was jut the love scenes that were gag inducing....and that scene when craig was getting out of the water in his shorts..i kinda thought that scene was funny

jodie's character in the film is kinda ambigous...sorta overkill but ok. jodie wasnt too good in it but i cant imagine any other actress that could have pulled off that character better

It was actually reported in the Mirror as fact, but Spike Lee was quick to rubbish it....Apparently he' a fan of the Arse..another reason for me to watch this movie...

argh! spike lee is a crazy fan!!have u seen him watch the nicks games??lol!
im kinda surprised no arab made an issue out of the musical score in this film...they were playing middle eastern sounding score when some sort of danger is to take place. this film was kinda abundant with post 911 paranoia. i may have too much time in my hands but they were often somewhere with a post 911 relevance. there was even a scene where jodie n washington while arguing or something were standing behind a wall that says 'we will never forget". but it was a good icebreaker joke though about the arab the police kinda manhandled...when he was complaining about what happened to his human rights and how ppl are discriminating him (which was said in a rational manner of course not like some paranoid lunatic)...and then denzel said "yeh but i bet u can get a cab though"..lol i think that was nicely played bringing all the characters back to ground, neither whining nor condescending:)

It wasn't an Arab, it was a Sikh, anyway the scene did highlight the insensitivities and ignorance of the American coppers, they see a man in a beard and Turban and go "holy shit, he's Arab"
The cab joke cracked me up though, as it did everyone else in the cinema....

Sikhs are from Punjab in India, and they practice their own religion, which has nothing to do with Islam or the Arabs.

anyway, if there were movies that I thought would cause some controversy in the Arab world, i thought they would be Syriana and Munich....I'm surprises these movies were screened here...

they showed passion of christ in dubai....i thought anything after that would be anticlimactic for strict gulf countries. i like munich but only coz eric bana looked hot in it and not shorty....nobody made an issue out of munich there?

I think that's what surprised me more...no one made an issue of either movie..

for passion....well jesus was tortured and died, so think other religion could care less....as for munich....its a film about how violence begets violence and eric bana was kinda tortured with what he had to do, so it's not really a pro israel movie

Well, I thought, a movie in which Israeli agents assassinate Palestinians would cause something of an uproar..
