do you have popular movies that made big in box office, won awards, was talked about town but....u just dont get? i mean u get the plot and all, but u just cant relate to all the hype it created. mines are:
1. George Clooney in Syriana - He won best supporting actor for this and i dont know why, i thought all he did is look his age and mimic having his nails pulled by shaking his fingers. He's got better parts and turned in better performances in his other movies, ive got nothing against him...just dont know why Syriana made all that fuss. Im sure the writers, etc are better read than me about ME, but the issue is not that ground breaking nor the movie style. george clooney there was ok, but the character didnt have that much bite. it's not even close to like benicio del torro in traffic which has the same style of intersecting plots and small parts that won him oscar best supporting actor award.
2. Breakfast at Tiffany's. i even bought the original, LEGAL copy of this film..and thats saying a lot since i can get them for under $2 here! i like audrey hepburn, i think shes one of the most beautiful faces ive seen, most graceful, can wear a potato sack and still look elegant, and i enjoyed her other movies too. but i dont get whats the fuss with Breakfast at tiffany's. she wore a nice black dress, she was gorgeous, good song moon river, but that's it. maybe it's my age and the generation i was born in. maybe if ive lived during those times, i'd have better appreciation for it.
to any fans of these movies, pls care to enlighten me what was great about these movies?..i dont mean that with sarcasm, i would really like to know.
which movies didnt u get?
