I'm not sure if a lot of people will like this film, but for me, it's PERFECT. I would put this film among one of the best films i've seen. Plotline is nothing too complicated but the potential twists and turns of the story will keep you guessing and hoping for additional hero, a change of heart, dread how such stories usually end or whatever, but least of your expectations is how the ending unfolded.
the script...the lines delivered...the scenes chosen, the pacing, how it was all executed...and the actors.........mannn the actors!! I wouldnt go to any details so i wont spoil it for anyone, raise your hopes up then end up with an anticlimactic feeling once youve seen it. but if you enjoyed The untouchables, the LA confidential, the freshness of fight club, martin scorsese's films before he got big budgets....i think you'll enjoy this one.
The last time ive seen Jack nicholson so good was in as good as it gets, and i thought maybe that's it, he has done it all. but seeing him in this film, maaannnn this guy can act. you can ask this guy to read the content section of your cereal box and he'll turn it into a one-man show and ask for an encore. this guy can kill in this film, wield a dildo, eat flies and just act bored and any actor worth his own salt would wish he's him.
Leonardo dicaprio....ive not had a crush on this guy until this film, and how i enjoyed watching him in this film made me realize i must have big issues. i found this guy sooo forking sexy beating the shit out of matt damon. and even just flipping his mobile fon. he's got lots of good scenes in this film, and the lines delivered here by every actor is so kewl it's just begging to be parodied and quoted, and reminds me of those early de niro film quotes. he's so kewl in this film im willing to forgive him for his fake british accent in his next film blood diamond sumfin.
Ive forgotten alec baldwin was an actor too before he got married and divorced kim basinger til this film. martin sheen, and even marky mark wahlberg who i thought was a god when i was in highschool who became famous for dropping his calvins...well he's not soo hot anymore, but what he lost in looks and hotness he made up in acting. he's supposed to be annoying and acted like an asshole..and he got that part down pat u'd wanna sock him as well just to shut him up, but at the end of the film, u'll forgive him for it.
I even like the fact that the girl they got in this film is not ur usual shinny perky all gloss type. she was just right. she kinda reminds me of fiona apple but she's just right; right amount of poise, right amount of grace. not overly dramatic. i think she's the only one in this film who spoke a line and didnt curse, and yet you know she has just as much strength as everyone else in the film.
u kno u'r watching something worth your money when you are as anxious and at the edge of your seat as the guy you are watching on the film performing even just the simplest act of answering a mobile fon.
ive not gotten this involved watching a film as i did watching Daniel Day lewis running bare chested in Last of the Mohicans thinking he sooo deserves to win an oscar best costume just for his pecs. but anyways....
this is movie making in its basic simplest form and i think everyone delivered.
SO DONT WATCH THIS FILM!hahahha!
are you nuts? if u like movies, dont let this pass. even if u end up not liking it, at least it's something fresh from what has usually come out this past years.
d only thing i dont like in this movie is that song playing on the preview (comfortably numb sumsuch) the rest is kewl.
