Here it is guys movie review for Tristan & Isolde and Today you die.
Miracles do happen and I had the privilege of witnessing one, I got COLD diet cola this time. Some of you might not know this but getting a cold cola on Friday in cinema is nothing short of a miracle.
1) Tristan & Isolde.
History for some reason fascinates me, and fondness for historical movies is just a extension of that. Brave Heart is one of my all time favorite movies, I loved everything about that movie and wish for more movies like that.
So when I heard about Tristan & Isolde I just had to watch it.
Story revolves around “”an affair between the second in line to Britain's throne (Franco) and the princess of the feuding Irish (Myles) spells doom for the young lovers.”” (Copied this line from movie promo)
I was not happy with this movie as pace of the movie was too slow, script was not well written, production quality was low (may be because of low budget) but above all very poorly directed movie.
Fighting sequences in the movie were directed very badly, camera was moving so fast that it had the ability to cause nausea. Fast editing of action sequence is only done when actors are not able to perform long shots which I believe is a result of poor casting and ultimately weakness in director to make actors perform.
Central idea of the movie was great but execution was all wrong.
Verdict – Watch it if you are bored otherwise wait for the DVD.
2) Today you Die.
This week I had a choice to watch either Basic Instinct 2 or this one. Basic Instinct 2 is just not my type of movie so I decided to watch today you die.
Story line of this movie “”Steven segal is modern day robin hood steals from criminals and gives to poor. Somewhere down the line he gets double crossed and lands in jail. Well he does not stay there for long as he breaks out and takes revenage on people who double crossed him.””
I personally believe that steven segal is getting too old for roles like these, this is a formula movie of revenage in which nothing is refreshing or new, all that you see has been done a million times.
Even action sequences were bad, people around me were yawning as this movie was nothing short of a disaster.
I guess this movie is not made for mature audience, 14 to 18 years young boys might enjoy it but if you older than that it will just be a time waster.
Verdict – Let this one go.
Bonus
Watched You me and Dupree and my super Ex-girl friend last weekend but did not had the time to review them.
Both the movies are funny and worth watching, I especially enjoyed watching you, me and Dupree as it had some really funny moments.
I will recommend them both for entertainment value.
