I only liked the last Bond movie. And Craig. Hated all the previous ones, with women swooning over Bond and jumping in bed with him with little persuasion.

You are only assuming that. They simply didn't show the persuasion parts in the final cut! They said that the studio couldn't afford producing a 5 hour movie...

Pierce brosnan is sleaze?! and daniel craig isnt? if there ever has been a perfect bond, its always been Pierce Brosnan. SOme say Sean Connery, but i would say what it does in my Avtaar. Cu i am entitled to my opinion, dammit!

Sean Connery was an old-skool type of Bond, who set the standard for all future pretenders. Having said that, the best Bond ever has to be Pierce Brosnan. Simply for having the best selection of women, cars and gadgets.  |

I do agree with QC, Craig is the best bond ever. At first, I though no way it's gonna work, this guy looks like the russian bad guy that every hero uses to fight. But while I was watching the movie, I totally forgot about it and I liked it. This bond is perfect because the character is not perfect! He does some mistakes and he is vulnerable like we can all be. Even sometimes, someone had to save his ass. But he is clever and this time it was more him who figures out how to deal with the situation rather than thousands of gadgets. I like gadgets but there was too many with Brosnan and it seems that without them he was nothing. This bond is smarter, more human, more like the kind of hero that we could be. Moreover, Casino Royale is the best story ever (and it's the first bond story released in 1967) because it's a tricky story and not only a bad guy who wants to destroy the world with an unbelievable plan. Regarding the shot itself, the movie is full of wonderful artistic scenes, just take a look again at the first scenes (in the office and in the man's room). And I Do like Eva Green Guys, just watch this movie again with a new eye. Not necessarily to be convinced that Craig is the best one but just to understand that this movie is closer to the idea that the original author Ian Fleming had about James Bond. For this new version, the movie maker wanted to show this by picking an actor who is totally different compared to the others (who now all look the same compared to Craig). I'm waiting for the next one. |

i like the last james bond and that movie could have stood on its own without the bond history behind it. but it cant be denied that part of that version's charm is that there was a built in persona in everyones psyche on what/how james bond should be and craig's version broke every bond cliches except the womanizing part. the action scenes were theatrically good theres something for everyone. the black n white scene in the beginning went to the artsy bit and the jumping in a semi built building was exhilarating ....... but the lovestory side of that movie after the smart witty banter totally sucked major balls. i mean it gathered all the bond cheesiness it missed and made up for it in the love scene!lol! craig had the toughness of steve mcqueen to his character. makers of the last bond were smart enough to kno that they cant immediately sell craig as the usual bond, polished and good looking, so they made sure that his face was usually cut and bruised in scenes where there is not much action going on...i guess to explain why he looks the way he looks coz well...not to be mean but compared to previous bonds, he looks kinda shrek:) he's got a hot bod though!......but that scene where he was coming out of the water was totally manwhore...and the naked torture scene?? i mean we get it already he's got a hot bod, no need to rub it in our face..chill! ;D but now that the novelty of being a 'different' kind of bond has already been played out in his first bond, i wonder how his sequel would be like. i mean he cant be the 'prequel bond' forever. he's a good actor though so it's up to the director and writers of the sequel to make the most out of him...and his body. maybe the next bond will be set around a body building competition? his face wouldnt look out of place there ;D pierce brosnan.......well he's the lazy kind of bond. he's practically born to look suave, poised and polished so for that he's the traditional male barbie bond...he just has to breathe and he's bond already....and maybe the director and writers wants to preserve his face thus he has to be surrounded with gadgets to protect it/him..........whereas they couldnt care less if they damage craigs!!lol! the more beat up craig looks, the more excuse they have why he cant be the traditional bond pretty face ;D so i'd vote George Lazenby coz i cant remember his face and maybe he's the real bond!lol! |

There's no way in million years Brosnan could have pulled Casino Royale off. He's just not normal enough to do that. Soon is right - this last Bond isn't perfect, he's human, and it's much more believable.

Layer Cake was like a cross between Trainspotting and Two Smoking Barrels in my view. And a poor imitation at that. There can only be one Bond, and it's Pierce Brosnan. A James Bond actor that was "realistic" would not be Bond at all, in fact he would be more like a wannabe. I'm just glad Mel "Americanised Smelly Aussie with Fake Scottish Accent" Gibson never got cast as James Bond.

ive seen layer cake, and it was an ok movie. dunno whats the big deal about this movie but mainly coz ive seen this aftr ive seen trainspotting and Snatch, so this didnt hold anything special for me.
the movie that i noticed craig though is in Munich.........and thats saying a lot coz Eric Bana was so hot and didnt look like a midget in that movie and i still noticed Craig!
