caught the 5 pm screening, it was ok for entertainment's sake, but almost 3 hours is quite long - and i had this feeling of wanting to have a shower after the movie. didnt get to see the after-credits scene actually, we stuck around while the guys were cleaning the floor but they cut if off altogether....oh well. it was just a premise for a possible sequel anyways. apparently the kid who was going to be hanged in the first scene is the kid that knightley and william have...............and off to pirates 4, search for the fountain of youth!argh.

Ok, it's a bit too long, and as it now seems usual, the extra length is used mainly for long time action scenes (I think the last battle must be at least 20 minutes long) and no extra plot development (though the plot here has not much to be ashamed of). The chinese part also seems a bit useless or at least too much twisted. Could have been done quicker and simpler (it's all about explaining Elizabeth's role). But on the whole this is a movie to enjoy, just as were the first two. It's all entertainment should be. A blockbuster which doesn't think the viewers are idiots with dumb and gratuitous plots. Here we have an Adventure movie, with a big A, which is a take on the popular imagery of pirates, a kind of retelling of 40-50's pulps, which doesn't fail to be fun and grim in the same time. Lots of special effects but you rarely think the director is watching himself filming, it's just "we need this effect, let's do it" (I am just a bit less enthusiastic about the ending of the last battle). And the cast is good. It's all about typical characters, except for Sparrow, and I can't think of someone else than Depp to play this improbable character with such seriousness and class.

Maybe I'm the last one to watch this. Finally I did it. Oh, Im gonna dream about Johnny Depp now. If only i wasnt getting late for another plan, I think I wouldnt have minded drooling over him for all those god-knows-how-many-minutes !!! I was standing at the exit before the credits could roll. When's the next one releasing ?

I still think the first movie was the best. Second doesn't mean much and doesnt lead anywhere, and third makes no sense without the second. Only the first movie is complete on its own.

Finally got round to watching this, having finally downloaded this off the torrents. While there will be the usual lark about how it wasn't as good as the first one, i think it's a fantastic movie. Sure, three hours was too long, and there were certain scenes that just seemed to drag on, but i think it's a fine ending to the series (is there going to be a part 4?). Bear in mind, it would take something pretty spectacular to top part-1. which was just untouchable. Overall the sequels made thoroughly enjoyable and watchable, which is more than can be said about some other sequels/trilogies, the Matrix for example. Next up....Jason Bourne comes home. I can't wait
